Happy Monday everyone! I hope everyone had a great weekend! My husband and I are on *somewhat* of a vacation this week to Ohio to visit family and then Chicago for fun- if you have recommendations of places to go, let me know! :) Since I’m trying to take a *little* time off, there will be a few guest posts here and there this week, but I’ll still be “around”!
I’m loving the shades of purple with green in this wedding from Borrowed Blue Photography. The colors are so light and springy! Absolutely lovely! And the bride Lucy was kind enough to share some of her wedding insights with us!
What helped you most in your planning process and/or on your wedding day?
Stephen and I wanted our wedding to stay true to ourselves in that we wanted to include things we both liked through out ceremony, whether that be hot sauce and pirate’s booty in our welcome bags, or chicken parm and tacos served during our cocktail hour.
What was the most important thing to you when deciding who to work with for your wedding?
It was really important to us to have people who were enthusiastic and quick to respond to our questiosn/concerns, yet fun and creative in helping us plan and capture our wedding.
Did any of your vendors do anything special for you before, on, or after your wedding day that you would like to share?
Our driver was such an amazing person, he was so calm, patient and helpful, he held my uncomfortable shoes for me when I insisted on walking barefoot on my way to my garden ceremony. Following our ceremony, he had a bottle of sparkling apple cider for us for a stroll.
What was your favorite thing about your wedding?
Definitely seeing everyone have a great time and join in our happiness. I will always remember how happy my parents and grandmother looked during our reception.
What is your best piece of advice for other brides?
When other brides told me to be prepared for certain unpredictables or minor details to go wrong, I thought it was impossible given that as such an anxious bride, I had spent so much time and effort planning, but nonetheless a few things always fall through the cracks and you just have to make the best of it. Your guests don’t notice and in the end it’s about having a wonderful happy celebration despite it all!
Amen to her advice! Nothing ever goes according to plan- although it could be very close if you have a planner handling things. ;) So what do you all think of the purple and green? I love the centerpieces and the shades of purple in the flowers! Thank you to Borrowed Blue Photography for sharing this beautiful wedding with us!

Hello!! My dear friend is getting married next year and the only way her future husband will wear a tie is if he wares one similar to the one the guys have on in this picture! Do you by chance remember where this tie came from? Any help would be great!
