I’ll be honest- I totally thought that these were normal pillows at first glance. I even thought, “Um, I definitely need to get one of those to match my house!” And then I looked closer, and read what the designer Anna Whitford, wrote, and I realized that these beauties are ring pillows! That’s right….as in, you can have one of these beautiful ring pillows for your wedding. Then you can put it on your couch or a favorite chair, because these are just too gorgeous to not use after your wedding!

These hand sculpted floral wedding ring pillows are made by Anna Whitford, a UK textile designer who makes sculptural fashion, interior and wedding accessories. These beautiful and unique pillows are one of Anna’s most popular products, and I can definitely see why! The three-dimensional flower is made from soft faux suede or metallic leather and hand sculpted on a silk dupion. At the center of the sculpted flower are two satin ribbons, which ties two wedding rings. Because of it’s handmade quality, you can pick and choose the color and style flower to suit your wedding theme. Just look at these…they’re absolutely beautiful!

So, who’s going to get one of these Anna Whitford pillows?! They will make for some awesome photos! And I’m pretty sure I’m absolutely going to get one for my couch. Because let’s face it- as much as I love weddings, these are too beautiful to just be confined to a one time use!

As you may know, I work for an awesome event décor company. Since I’ve been working there, I’ve been to a few bridal shows with them, and sometimes I get confused looks from brides when I tell them that we are an “event décor company”. So it got me thinking that perhaps not every bride knows what an event décor company is and what one can do for their wedding.

An event décor company or event designer can handle as much or as little of your wedding décor as you want. Different companies have different styles and focus on various aspects of wedding décor. It’s really nice to work with someone who knows the ins and outs of wedding décor and who will have awesome ideas for you. You can have an event décor company help you to design your whole wedding, or just provide lighting or flowers. Most event décor companies provide basically anything that you can think of that would make your wedding look gorgeous. Draping, lighting, flowers, furniture rentals, linens…the options are almost endless!

A huge benefit to hiring an event décor company is that they can set up and tear down all of the décor for your wedding. You won’t have to worry about how your wedding is going to look with your friend or your Aunt Susie setting it up. The event décor company will know your vision and make it into a reality for you.

This video below is a time lapse of an event setup by MMD Events. The video was done by the amazing Voila Cinematic. It really showcases how amazing decor is, and what a huge difference it can make! (Can you spot me in the video?)

Tons of planners use event décor companies because they know that they have the ability to make weddings incredibly beautiful. Some décor companies also have “in-house” event coordinators (like me). It’s beneficial so everyone is on the same page, and your event will run seamlessly. But don’t get me wrong- having an event décor company handle your décor doesn’t mean that you automatically have a day-of coordinator. It just means that you won’t have to worry about setting up your wedding. You should still have a coordinator to make sure everything goes smoothly during your wedding too.

If you have any questions at all about how an event décor company works and what they do, please don’t hesitate to ask!

I couldn’t quite put my finger on the style of this Virginia wedding by Allegra’s Studio. Yes, of course it has a peacock color scheme of purple and blue (which is SO fun!). But there was something about it that was classic yet fun, and so of course I turned to the {ELD} Wedding Style Dictionary. (I know, I use it a lot, but that’s why I created it!)

This swanky chic wedding has just the right amount of “showiness” (swanky) to complement it’s style and elegance (chic). The peacock feathers used in the decor aren’t used in excess, just as accents, which is nice to see. I love the way the blue and purple colors were presented. They go together quite well!

I adore the happiness that you can see on the bride and groom’s faces! Thank you to Allegra’s Studio for sharing this beautiful wedding!

I know I just had an inspiration board with red as a color, but it seems like lots of brides are liking red for a wedding color this year! I put together this inspiration board for a bride who described her wedding as being intimate with a romantic and dark feel, and modern with vintage elements. I’ve been calling it Twilight-esque, but the bride hasn’t seen the movie, so she wouldn’t be able to compare it to that. I think calling this style Eclectic Romance fits well.

Row 1: Centerpiece, Feasting Table/Tablescape, Small centerpiece, Cigars

Row 2: Ceremony, Invitations, Shoes, Cake

Row 3: Escort Cards, Boutonnière, Calla Lily Centerpiece

Pulling in vintage elements with some modern style gives this style a hint of eclectic, and of course deep red and candlelight is so absolutely romantic. What else do you think this style could be called?
