I’m loving every last detail of this modern navy and gold wedding captured by Reign 7 Photography and planned by Yvette Price Events! The simple, yet bold color palette is definitely gorgeous, and when you add in some glitz and glam… well you’ll just have to see for yourself!

From the bride, Stephanie:

What (or who) helped you most in your planning process and/or on your wedding day?

My sister Yvette Price of http://yvettepriceevents.com is the person who helped me the most during the planning process and on my wedding day.  She is a professional wedding planner and designer and she was my source of stability and inspiration during the planning process.

What was the most important thing to you when deciding who to work with for your wedding?

The most important thing was ensuring that my family and friends had a lovely time during my wedding weekend, I knew that with my sisters long time experience as a planner that she would ensure my day be spectacular as I have imagined my whole life.  For me it was a no brainer to have my sister as my planner.  She made it so easy for me.  I love her creativity and imagination.

What was your inspiration for your wedding details and/or design?

The inspiration for my wedding came from within me and my husband’s personalities.  We wanted the wedding to reflect a sense of family, love, elegance and mostly fun.  I knew that I had a love for the color blue so I went with Navy/almost black for the bridesmaids, and linens.  I kind of wanted black tie but my husband didn’t so we kind of split the difference.

What was your favorite thing about your wedding?

My favorite thing about my wedding was probably the surprise confetti cannon at the end of the evening. That surprised all of our guests and made the evening end with a BANG! Awesomeness….

What is your best piece of advice for other brides?

The best piece of advice I can give to other brides is to remember that the wedding day is simply one day and that the rest of the journey begins after that. Live the moments they go by too fast during the wedding reception.   Stay patient, once you make a decision, stick with it.  Be flexible especially when considering mother nature!  Invest in an amazing photographer like I did, they make the memories come back to you when you forget all the little moments and details.  Get support whenever you can!

How amazing is it that the reception ended with a confetti cannon surprise?! Not something you see all too often, but I LOVE it!

Are you planning on surprising your guests with something fun during your reception?

So today my husband and I are celebrating 5 years of marriage, and my goodness, it feels like it was yesterday… but at the same time, it feels like it was forever ago! Of course since today is our anniversary, I was looking through photos (what would we do without Facebook?!) and I realized something- the memories of our wedding day are fading away fast! It went by so quickly that I hardly remembered anything to begin with, but when you add time on top of that, naturally I’m going to forget a thing or two- not to mention that I have a horrible memory as it is. Which got me thinking- what about the other brides out there who want to make sure they remember their wedding day?

Well friends, this is why your photos are SO important! I have a handful of photos from my wedding day, but I only uploaded a select few to my Facebook albums. But this where something awesome comes into play. Something that will help you remember and re-live your wedding day through the images. Lucky for brides, both past, present, and future, my favorite wedding inspiration site, Lover.ly, has added a “Real Weddings” section to their site!

After The Wedding: Remembering Your Day via TheELD.com

Real Weddings” on Lover.ly is essentially a digital keepsake where any and all past brides and grooms can easily save and share their wedding day memories forever online. When you create a profile, you can upload your wedding day photos, tag your vendors, describe your wedding, provide insight, and share your love story. You will receive a personal shareable link to share with your family and friends, and after approval from the Lover.ly editorial team, you could even be featured on the Lover.ly homepage! (We like to call this “wedding famous” in the wedding world. And my advice is to first have your photographer submit your wedding to ELD, and then once it’s featured, you can get even more “wedding famous” on Lover.ly! ;) Oh, and before you upload your photos, make sure your photographer has given you permission! Sorry, annoying blogger/copyright stuff!)

Oh, and there’s something even more exciting than sharing your wedding on Lover.ly! The first 100 real weddings submitted and profiled on Lover.ly will receive a free Lock-N-Key Key Chain set from Lover.ly’s launch sponsor Things Remembered! So head on over to Lover.ly’s Real Weddings to make sure you keep your wedding day memories alive for as long as possible!

Rustic, intimate, and full of fun- Jenna and Mark’s blush and yellow wedding was everything they wanted it to be… plus it’s gorgeous too! Of course Heather of LVL Weddings and Events had a hand in making everything happen perfectly, and Nick Radford captured everything beautifully. Jenna is here with us today sharing some of her wedding insight:

What (or who) helped you most in your planning process and/or on your wedding day?

My planner was definitely the most helpful, always quick to answer my (many) questions.  Pinterest and etsy were also helpful for brainstorming decor ideas.

What was the most important thing to you when deciding who to work with for your wedding?

The most important thing to me when deciding who to work with for my wedding was finding someone I trusted and felt comfortable with.  There are so many moving parts in a wedding that my day would have been ruined if I had to worry about all of them falling into place.  I needed someone who I knew would take care of everything, so I could just concentrate on enjoying my big day!

What was your inspiration for your wedding details and/or design?

My husband and I wanted a very rustic and intimate feel for our wedding.  Our venue was perfect because it was someone’s home but also a working farm, so it gave us the intimate feeling we were looking for and also the rustic decor.

What was your favorite thing about your wedding?

It’s too hard to pick one favorite thing!  If I had to choose, I would probably pick our personalized vows as my favorite part because it was so meaningful to have such a personal moment but also be surrounded by all of our favorite people.

What is your best piece of advice for other brides?

I think my best piece of advice for other brides is to ask for help, whether it be from a planner, from friends, or from family.  It’s just way too much for one couple to do all on their own!

Oh I love Jenna’s advice! A wedding really is a lot of work- no one should have to do it all on their own!

So how are you planning on getting help with your wedding? Are you hiring a planner or coordinator?

Many of you may know that my goal for Every Last Detail is to educate brides- and the world- about weddings. A very large part of this involves spreading the word about what a wedding costs, and while it’s not always the happiest topic, it’s a very necessary aspect of wedding planning. And so, in 2012, I surveyed wedding professionals across the United States to find out what their average bride spent with them. I conducted the survey again last year, and today I’m excited to share what a wedding costs when you use professionals with you all!

What A Wedding Costs (When You Use Professionals) via TheELD.com

Before we talk data and numbers though, it’s important you know something: the weddings I talk about here on ELD don’t encompass all weddings… they are a certain type of wedding. (Yes, there are types of weddings!) These weddings that I speak of are weddings that use professionals. These weddings are what I know- it’s the type of wedding that I myself had, and it’s the type of wedding that I planned for other brides. Sure, you can have a wedding without using professionals- and it will undoubtedly be a lot less expensive. But those aren’t the weddings that I have experience in, and therefore, they are not the weddings that I speak of here on Every Last Detail. :) My biggest regret from my own wedding is that I was clueless about all things weddings. The truth is, my wedding would have been a whole lot better if I had just known more- more about vendors, more about what to do, more about what things should cost… heck, more about everything having to do with weddings! This is of course the driving force behind why I started Every Last Detail, and it is my hope for ELD to be a source that brides can turn to for candid, truthful insight about weddings. Which is precisely why I talk about some of the “taboo” topics, like what a wedding costs.

So with that said, let’s actually find out what a wedding costs when you use professionals…

A few things to note regarding this data:

*The average guest count for these weddings= 143

*Data represents all of the United States.

*Catering and venues can often times be one in the same.

Sharing this information has been a LONG time coming! In all honesty, I’m kind of late in posting it- this year and time has been flying by, and I’m kind of in denial that May is almost over… but I didn’t want another day to go by without you all having this information! I hope this will serve as a tool so you can know and be prepared for what to expect wedding vendors to cost. Because half the battle of setting a wedding budget is just knowing what to expect! And if you have any questions at all, please don’t hesitate to ask below in the comments!
