Avery and Jorge’s Pensacola wedding took place at the Pensacola Museum of Art, surrounded by family, friends, and beautiful art. Choosing to focus on the party and their guests, their day was filled with delicious food, a funfetti cake, and an incredible band to entertain guests all night long. A simple, yet elegant design was the perfect complement to the modern location, made complete with florals boasting beautiful shades of pink. Aislinn Kate Photography captured the day’s details and emotions beautifully, and we can’t wait for you to see it all!
What (or who) helped you most in your planning process and/or on your wedding day?
Our good family friend also happens to be the best wedding planner in town (shout-out to Paul!), so he really did it all. We provided the vision, but he brought it to life and did it all with a sense of humor. He and my mom deserve all the credit for making it the perfect day it was!
What was the most important to the two of you while planning? Was there anything that you chose to splurge on or skip?
We prioritized the people and the party. We ended up with about 220 guests, so decided to skip a seated dinner and did stations instead. Our main splurges were the open bars (plus a serve yourself bourbon bar), the band, and the flowers. Two of our favorite items were the late night dominos pizza was passed out as guests were leaving, and the glow sticks for the dance floor.
What were your favorite parts of the day?
We didn’t do a first look, so walking down the aisle was really special. We both had really relaxing mornings getting ready with our friends and family, and the entire day was stress free. At the end of the night, we all sat outside on the steps of the museum eating Dominos pizza with our friends and laughing at the dancing and antics we’d witnessed over the past few hours – it was perfect.
Do you have any advice for couples planning their weddings now?
It’s a beautiful, wonderful, and spectacular day, but it’s not the single best day of your life. Don’t put that much pressure on yourself! It’s a wonderful day, but it’s the start of a beautiful journey, so care enough about something to make it happen, but don’t stress so much about anything that it makes you crazy. It’s just another day!
