What (or who) helped you most in your planning process and/or on your wedding day?

So many people helped during the planning process. My maid of honor helped me come up with a lot of the ideas and then she and other friends helped me pull them off. The day of the wedding the venue coordinator and day of coordinator worked together to pull off the wedding; they were invaluable.

What was the most important thing to you when deciding who to work with for your wedding?

I wanted people who were supportive, positive, fun, and knew their stuff. All of our vendors did a great job. Our photographer, Jen Disney, fit all those qualifications and more. Her energy, warmth and positivity made us feel like we were hanging out with a friend. Getting married felt surreal especially since we had spent months planning for the day. And Jen helped us feel at ease and have a wonderful time.

What was your inspiration for your wedding details and/or design?

I was not the kind of girl who had dreamed of her wedding all her life, so I was a bit at a loss as to what I wanted. After I got engaged, I could only tell people that I wanted twinkly lights, which I ended up getting. The venue helped guide the inspiration as it was a beautiful, outdoor garden setting. Also, we wanted our wedding to be a time and place where our friends and family would have fun while supporting us.

What was your favorite thing about your wedding?

My favorite thing? I can only pick one?!? If I had to narrow it down to one thing I would have to say it was feeling the love and support of everyone there. It was a beautiful and wonderful day, and it was so special to be surrounding by the people who love us.

What is your best piece of advice for other brides?

Figure out what works for you. It is different for everyone and people will tell you that their way is the best. But you really have to figure out how you and your fiancé want to do things. Also, try to keep things in perspective and surround yourself with positive and supportive people. Wedding planning is stressful but you will make it!

Aw, I love Stefanie’s advice! And did you catch the adorable Star Wars details throughout the day? Like using glow sticks instead of sparklers for a reception exit… the closest thing to real life sabers, right? Oh, and can we please talk about how adorable these two are?!
