So you’ve received your invitations (hopefully custom ones that you are absolutely in love with) and it’s time to address them! You’ve been practicing your handwriting for a few days, and you write out an address on a test envelope. It doesn’t look that great. In fact, it completely takes away from the beauty of your invitation. So you look at your options. Printing the addresses onto the envelopes, which is actually a painstaking process with feeding envelopes into the printer, and taking the chance that some of them might be eaten by said printer. Or you can have the addresses calligraphed by a professional, and give your guests a beautiful “first look” at your invitations, as well as save you some sanity.

When it came to my own invitations, I thought that calligraphy was out of the question, mostly because I didn’t know how to go about having it done! Having your addresses calligraphed is actually quite simple and affordable. You send your invitations to the calligrapher, along with your list of addresses, and once complete, they then send the invitations back to you for you to mail. There are many different types of calligraphy, and they are all unique to the calligrapher. You can have the calligraphy be modern and bold or something classic and elegant!

Some of my favorite calligraphers are Jennifer of Calligraphy By Jennifer and Amanda of Swoon Over It. They both do absolutely beautiful work, and their styles are completely unique! I definitely wish I had known about them before my wedding…which is of course why I’m sharing this will all of you!

How beautiful is all of this calligraphy? I love the two completely different styles…there are so many options! You really can have just about anything calligraphed…your escort cards, notecards, stationery…whatever your heart desires! Has anyone had their invitations (or anything else) calligraphed?

Love calligraphy, and the different styles of each of the artists that do it. Love that first envelope on top with the swirls on the bottom!
