Jessica and Chris had a gorgeous rustic Central Florida wedding at Skyline Ranch, and we are so excited to be sharing it with you today! The ranch venue hosted many of the wedding guests on the property in cabins, which made the whole weekend a fun, family-centered event. An earthy, rich color palette of red and navy creates a beautifully rustic vibe for the whole day, complimented by fun details like a beer tap station and cocktail hour games. Everything was planned and designed impeccably by Emily Grace Design, and Caroline & Evan Photography were there to capture each and every detail beautifully. To top it all off, Jessica is joining us today, sharing a little insight into planning her beautiful fall Central Florida wedding day. Sit back and enjoy friends!
What (or who) helped you most in your planning process and/or on your wedding day?
My mom is incredible and she was there every step of the way helping us make decisions and coming up with ideas. Also, our wedding planner, Emily Waters of Emily Grace Design was absolutely amazing bringing our vision to life. She is so creative and made every detail perfect and something we loved.
What was the most important thing to you when deciding who to work with for your wedding?
The most important thing for us was to feel completely comfortable with our wedding planner. I had heard a lot of great things about Emily from friends. Also, Emily is a childhood friend of mine and after I saw photos of her work, I knew she was a perfect fit for us.
What was your inspiration for your wedding details and/or design?
The colors were our biggest inspiration. I loved the combination of navy and copper. From there it was basically a shopping spree of anything in the right colors that fit our personal style. This meant we made a lot of things ourselves and Emily tied it all together and made lots of personal details for us. It was important to keep every last detail in keeping with our personal style and things we’d like to see everyday in any setting. A lot of her designs and things she made for us now decorate our home.
What was your favorite thing about your wedding?
Two favorite things: one was dancing around with my parents and brothers to the song “Call Me Al” by Paul Simon. It’s an inside joke that we all used to dance around the family room to that song when we were younger. So it was fun to recreate that. Second was having my dad perform the service. It was personalized for us, obviously, but it was so my dad; a combination of love and comedy. Of course we will get to cherish every minute because of our fantastic photographers, Caroline & Evan Photography.
What is your best piece of advice for other brides?
My best advice for other brides would be do whatever you makes you happy and smile on your wedding day. It is a crazy, chaotic day and it’s over in the blink of an eye. At the end of the day, you’re marrying your best friend and that is the most important part.
