Virginia and Stephen wanted their Rehearsal Dinner/Welcome Party to have a laid back, relaxed feel that featured lots of local Charleston culture because most of their guests had never traveled to Charleston before their wedding weekend.
We love that they chose to do a lowcountry boil complete with jalapeño cornbread and tahini butter as a nod to Charleston. The bar featured their favorite local beers and liquors from High Wire Distillery where the event was located, in addition to a bourbon bar featuring Stephen’s favorite bourbons.
A Charleston Bride did a beautiful job creating this intimate party as this couple welcomed their family and friends to town for an evening of laid back fun prior to the wedding celebration. Bold patterned linens from La Tavola Fine Linen, beautiful white blooms from Out of the Garden, and a cigar roller from Cigar Row all combined to create a casual evening that still offered incredible details that celebrated the city around them.
You’ll love the fun and casual vibe that Aaron & Jillian Photography captured of this couple’s intimate pre-wedding celebration.
From the bride, Virginia:
I don’t know what we would have done without A Charleston Bride during our planning process. Lindsey Shanks and Amanda Kelsey took our vision of a fun, laid back Rehearsal Dinner/Welcome Party and went above and beyond in making it perfect. It was amazing to be able to relax the day before the wedding and know that every detail of our wedding weekend would be taken care of. Lindsey and Amanda got to know us as a couple and tailored every detail of the wedding weekend to us which was so special. Though I am very organized and didn’t know if I really needed a planner, I absolutely did. Lindsey and Amanda made sure that the entire wedding planning process was stress free. I highly recommend hiring a wedding planner to plan all of the wedding events and I especially recommend hiring A Charleston Bride.
Since many of Virginia and Stephen’s guests were traveling from out of town, we love that they themed this evening as a cultural experience!
Have you put any thought into how you’d like to welcome your guests into town prior to your wedding day festivities?
