This rustic, nature inspired wedding perfectly achieved the low-key, personal wedding that the bride and groom, Nikki and Tim, desired. Green and white florals mixed with succulents, rustic handmade details, and an ice cream truck all played a part in creating this lovely Florida wedding… and it was all captured beautifully by Bumby Photography!
What (or who) helped you most in your planning process and/or on your wedding day?
My mom & dad were a huge help in the planning and preparing for our wedding and on the day of, my girls (Monica, Danielle & Melodie) were absolutely awesome and took care of all the little details.
What was the most important thing to you when deciding who to work with for your wedding?
I really had no idea at first what I was looking for and who I would work with, but after meeting with a few vendors, I found very quickly that I was drawn to those who seemed to be just as excited about my special day as I was. I was pleasantly surprised at how many vendors truly loved what they do and after the hundreds of wedding they have done, each and every one was still special.
What was your inspiration for your wedding details and/or design?
I really wanted to stay true to who I was and the type of couple Tim and I are. We are very simple, non fancy or formal people. We love to be surrounded by family and friends in comfortable settings. I love the natural look, so that is what I really inspired to capture. I was able to find a few base ideas on Pintrest, and then just added my own touches.
What was your favorite thing about your wedding?
My flowers ended up being my favorite thing about our Wedding. The center pieces and bouquets came out absolutely beautiful!! I really wanted to incorporate the succulents so that after the wedding I could come home and plant them and always have a little something to remember our special day by.
What is your best piece of advice for other brides?
Be true to who you are, try not to get caught up in the “wedding hoopla” and plan a day that will represent you and your future husband. Don’t be afraid to veer away from tradition and don’t forget this is a day about you and him not anyone else.
I LOVE Nikki’s advice- it’s so important to remember to stay true to yourself and not get caught up in what you think you’re supposed to have! I think she and her husband stayed pretty true to themselves, don’t you think? I mean, you don’t get any more personal than your initials on every centerpiece! And did you catch the ice cream truck? Such an amazing idea!
Brides, I would love to hear about you’re planning on staying true to yourselves! What will you be doing?
Vendors who made it all happen…

Our daughter will always be our little girl. She married the love of her life at a venue that was perfect for both of them. Nikki’s warm and caring personality came thru in every last detail of their wedding.
Love all the green hues throughout this wedding. Gorgeous!
Beautiful flower combination!
So honored to see not only the wedding I photographed but my two dear friends featured on ELD. Thank you Lauren for sharing their perfect wedding!
