Happy Friday again everyone! I am simply in love with this Oklahoma wedding from Blue Elephant Photography! From the bright colors to the vintage details, I just can’t get enough! And I am so excited to share these beautiful photos, as well as some tidbits from the bride, with you!
What (or who) helped you most in your planning process and/or on your wedding day?
My mother helped me the most, but my inspiration is what helped her into being more apart of the wedding because bigger weddings are not her thing & I chose aspects that I knew she would like to be apart of & help with.
What was the most important thing to you when deciding who to work with for your wedding?
The most important thing was my theme. I did vintage & brooch bouquets, which required antique shopping. My mother, grandmother & I used to go when I was littler so I knew that would be a way to get my mom involved. I also did fabric flowers which required sewing & my mother’s hobby is making quilts, just another way to get her involved & be apart of my day.
What was your inspiration for your wedding details and/or design?
Inspiration was vintage but the owl aspect came into play when my mom & I were antique shopping & we came across a bright orange owl brooch that at first we said no too, but as we were leaving the town, she swung by, handed me the money & told me to go get it. From there on we were on a hunt for any owls that would fit in, decoration & brooch aspects.
What was your favorite thing about your wedding?
My favorite part about the wedding was my friends & family that were there & mostly my best friend at the end of the aisle because in the end, the decorations are just decorations & you mostly end up with pictures of them in the end, but the guy you marry is forever. The decorations for me was a bonding period for my mother & I & with the way we did it, we get to keep them all.
What is your best piece of advice for other brides?
Do not fret the little things because whatever happens was meant to be. It is supposed to be one of the best days of your life so all that really matters is the guy at the end of the aisle & the love you two share, that is what makes a wedding beautiful. Oh, & do NOT procrastinate!
So was I right or what? It is tough to get enough of the sweet details and the gorgeous color in this wedding! I love how she incorporated not only her fiance, but also her family in the wedding- and her advice to brides is just fabulous! “Don’t sweat the small stuff!” How true!
So what are you doing in your planning process to keep you from sweating the small stuff in the process? I can’t wait to hear!
Cheers!
Samm
