Happy Valentine’s Day everyone! Since today is all about celebrating love, I thought this vintage Valentine’s Day love session from Emily Grace Design and Shutter Life Productions would be the perfect thing to start us off today! With glitter, love letters, cake, and a couple who is totally and completely in love, you really can’t go wrong, right?
From Emily of Emily Grace Design:
We created this Valentine’s Day Photo Session as the first part of an upcoming affordable styled photo session series that we will be working on with Shutter Life Productions over the upcoming year. Lori from SLP, and spent hours finding inspiration, brainstorming, and coming up with a theme that we were excited to create for the shoot. We landed on a vintage airmail theme. We wanted to give our couples a lot of different elements to interact with during their shoot, and I think we came up with a great combination of vintage props and sweet love letters to tie everything together. I loved the paper airplane backdrop that we hung from the trees. We created a custom print on the paper that said “p.s. i love you” before folding into planes. We had so much fun with each of our couples and families that we hung out with that day, and we can’t wait to announce our next session!
For a behind the scenes look at the fun, check out the video that Shutter Life Productions put together to capture to love!

I love that this was a real shoot, using a real, totally and completely in love couple! And what a great excuse for taking updated photos together- a beautifully styled and fun photo session like this!
So tell me- would you consider doing a Valentine’s Day love session with your significant other for next year? [I actually kind of did one myself last year- you can see it here, complete with a recipe for a dinner date at home!]
Vendors who made it all happen…

Do you know how they made those cute yarn hearts? I’d love to make some of those for my centerpieces!
I made the hearts by taking a heavy weight wire and bending it into a heart shape. You can also use metal coat hangers that you get from the dry cleaners, they work well just as well, and you’re upcycling! I wrapped the wire in yarn, then started criss-crossing it until the interior of the heart looked even. I’ll consider doing a tutorial for them. They were such a fun detail to create.
I love the cake that goes from lighter to darker pink.
