Oh, y’all! This gorgeous wedding from Sarah Kathleen has so, so much goodness. The yummy afternoon light and breathtaking locale makes me want to hop a plane and head for the California wine country. I’ll bet it will have you California Dreamin’, too!
From the bride, Tammy:
What (or who) helped you most in your planning process and/or on your wedding day?
Definitely my mom and my Aunt Nanette. They were with me at every vendor meeting, tasting, dress fitting, etc., and even helped me with all the DIY projects! My aunt even made our beautiful wedding cake and cupcakes! Also my wedding planner Simone Lennon, who went way above and beyond her call of duty. I couldn’t imagine planning our wedding without these three ladies.
What was the most important thing to you when deciding who to work with for your wedding?
Definitely personality. I wanted a team of relaxed go-with-the-flow individuals I felt a personal connection to and who would allow me to feel at ease on my wedding day and not stress me out. My photographer, planner, venue contact, and hair & makeup team were all girls I could see myself being friends with and after the wedding that’s exactly what happened! I still talk to and hang out with many of these wonderful woman!
What was your inspiration for your wedding details and/or design?
We were originally getting marred in a french winery so I really wanted to create a rustic french feel, however when that venue canceled on us 8 weeks before and we found a new location I changed it up a bit. I decided to still go rustic yet incorporate an element of romance to play on the exquisiteness of the new venue.
What was your favorite thing about your wedding?
This one is easy, I without a doubt married my soulmate. Not only did I feel an overwhelming amount of love between us, but also from all of our family and friends. I’ve never before experienced feeling so much love in one room, I could literally physically “feel love”!
What is your best piece of advice for other brides?
At least one thing is bound to go wrong in the planning process so roll with the punches along the way and don’t stress too much because in the end it will all work out and your wedding will be the best day of your life. Enjoy every second of the day, don’t stress about your hair and makeup being perfect, or decor details that a the time you feel are important. The most important thing is that you are at ease and can really take as much in as possible and losing focus on that can take away from the magical experience.
AMEN to her advice! And how about that gorgeous location? While I myself had a traditional church wedding, there is something so magical about an outdoor ceremony. I’m always secretly jealous of those who marry (or dine afterwards) under the stars. Are any of you planning an outdoor wedding? I’m dying to know where!
XOXO,
Carlee
