So with all of that said, this Virginia vineyard wedding that I have for you all today is GORGEOUS. Rustic and DIY elements, bright and bold yellow, a gorgeous vineyard surrounded by mountains, and spectacular photography by Sarah Der Photography all make for an absolutely perfect combination!
From the bride, Missy…
What (or who) helped you most in your planning process and/or on your wedding day?
My mom, Pinterest, and a wonderful band of family friends!
What was the most important thing to you when deciding who to work with for your wedding?
We chose who to work with based on quality, cost, and the vendor´s ability to be flexible. Honestly, they were some of the first people we contacted and as our meetings went on, we realized just how blessed we were with each of them. Our amazing photographer (Sarah Der Photography) was recommended by friends. Our caterer has a wonderful reputation in our town, and ended up making some of the most fun details of the event (personalized Ceviche as an appetizer for my Ecuadorian husband!). Finally, our florist is a good friend of my parents and went above and beyond (even showing my mom how to plant and care for many of the flowers we ended up using for the rehearsal and the wedding in order to save money!).
What was your inspiration for your wedding details and/or design?
My husband and I decided early on that we wanted our wedding to reflect our lives- that is the most important thing in our lives- our faith in Jesus Christ. Each thing we planned (from my dress, to the playlists, to the flow of the evening, etc), we tried to make sure it would speak truth about what we believe.
What was your favorite thing about your wedding?
I loved that it was not the norm. While I had the idea that “our” day should be about us, my husband gently brought me to see that “our” day was really a gift the Lord had given us, as well as a chance to share our faith with our family and friends who were sharing that day with us. I think my single favorite moment was the time when my husband and I sang a song for our parents (a surprise for them), then he got up and sung me a song in both Spanish and English (a surprise for me!).
What is your best piece of advice for other brides?
Evaluate what is truly most important for you and your husband, then stick to it!
Is that scenery not the most gorgeous thing you’ve ever seen or what?! I just love how Missy and Francisco infused their personalities and relationship into all of their wedding details. From the table numbers, to singing a song during their reception, their wedding was about them, but also about sharing their day with their friends and family! And how great do all of the different bridesmaid dresses look together? I don’t think I’ll ever tire of that look! :)
Brides, I would LOVE to hear how you’re planning on infusing you and your partner’s personalities into your wedding day! Do you have anything unique that you’re planning on doing?
Vendors who made it all happen…

Lovely Mountain Wedding!!!
Oh, this makes me so, so happy! Thank you very much for sharing Missy + Pancho’s wedding day, Lauren! :)
So pretty. I love the colors and the flower girls’ dresses are absolutely adorable. My favorite is the brides veil…love it!
I love all the little personal touches. The post cards on the card table was an adorable idea, along with the table numbers!
What a gorgeous wedding. I love the flowers in the little jars, and the scenery is certainly amazing. I love the fact that this couple infused their beliefs into the wedding and really got everyone involved in what they believe are the most important things to celebrate in life.
Thanks for posting this, Lauren! Just FYI, the postcards were our version of a guest book. Since we moved out of the country after the wedding, my parents have been sending us postcards with peoples messages on them. Such a fun way to remember that night and get awesome advice throughout the first year!
Missy,
I just love the detail of your wedding. I am getting married at King Family Vineyards and I wanted to ask you about the person who did your flowers. I love them and I also love the wooden arch you got married in front of with the flowers hanging. Who built that for you and was it your florist who put that all together?
I love it!
gorgeous, thanks!
