There are SO many things that I love about this wedding today! Gray and white chevron pattern, handmade details, and oh yeah- it’s on a LLAMA FARM! Pretty fun, right?! Not to mention that the photography by Brandi Welles is absolutely gorgeous, and the bride and groom are positively radiant!

What (or who) helped you most in your planning process and/or on your wedding day?

The two things that helped me the most were the inspiration boards on The Knot’s website and making a spread sheet on Microsoft Excel. I used the inspiration boards to put all of my ideas together for the look and feel of the wedding. The spreadsheets were extremely helpful for organizing all of the things I have to do, what date to have them done by, who is assigned to what task, etc. These two things were huge stress relievers for me!

What was the most important thing to you when deciding who to work with for your wedding?

The biggest deciding factor when I was choosing which vendors to work with was if they could understand and incorporate what I wanted, but could also make it their own. I told them what kind of style I was going for and gave them the freedom to get creative with it. After all, they are the ones doing weddings and events every day, so they will usually know what works best and what they personally excel at doing.

What was your inspiration for your wedding details and/or design?

I wasn’t sure exactly what look I was going for when I first started planning my wedding. The first step for me was finding the venue and after I found Llama Rose Farm and Gardens, I decided to let the venue inspire me. The beautiful country and farm inspired the casual look of mason jars, burlap, and twine. I accented the natural/brown tones with grey and yellow.

What was your favorite thing about your wedding?

My favorite part about the wedding was the ceremony. It was short and sweet, lasting only about fifteen minutes, which I’m sure our guests were thankful for since it was about 85 degrees out. We did something a little different by doing a wine box ceremony in which we wrote love letters to each other and put them in a box with a bottle of wine. We will open the box on our tenth anniversary then put new letters and a new bottle of wine in it to be opened in another ten years. Joshua and I were overwhelmed with emotion throughout the entire ceremony, it’s something that I’ll never forget.

What is your best piece of advice for other brides?

I have two pieces of advice for other brides. First, don’t procrastinate!! I kept putting a lot of things off, and the week before the wedding I could barely think straight I was so stressed. Had I just spread the tasks out week by week, I would’ve had more time to spend with family and friends who had flown in for the wedding. Second, and I know everyone says this, but don’t stress the day of your wedding. Enjoy and take in every minute of it because the day will fly by.

Oh my goodness, Margo is RIGHT on the money with her advice about not procrastinating! Take a cure from her and spread out your tasks!

I don’t know about you, but I’m pretty in love with the fact that this wedding was at a LLAMA farm! And the modern gray and white chevron with rustic and handmade details… such a great combination! And the flowers used in the bouquets and centerpieces- love them! So how about you friends? What’s your favorite part of this wedding?!

It’s a combination of simplicity with intriguing, appealing decorations so like the square cake a simple design and the modern interesting flowers combinations.

I also love the mix of modern design (chevron) and rustic elegance (handmade details) which made the perfect combination!
