Editor’s Note: Happy Monday everyone! I hope you all enjoyed Stationery Week last week and had wonderful weekends! I’m weathering Tropical Storm Isaac today, but I wanted to pop in to remind you all of the calligraphy giveaway that started on Friday! Be sure to enter- there are only a few days left! :) And now for today’s lovely wedding… take it away Brit!

Beyond the fabulous photos that Jenn Hopkins snapped, the one thing that caught my fancy about this wedding was the fact that the groom was a huge help with the wedding. I mean, he was up until 2 a.m. helping with stationery – holy awesome, Batman! But, in all reality, these two are smiling and happy in just about every photo. Yes, her flowers are pretty, and the venue gorgeous (stunning, really), but the fact that Jenn was able to capture so many joyous photos is just plain awesome. I hope you enjoy flipping through their photos as much as I did.

What (or who) helped you most in your planning process and/or on your wedding day?

My husband actually helped me mostly with the planning process. He was amazing and was by my side every step of the way helping me make my dream wedding come true. When my Maid of Honor and I were hand crafting out invitations and program fans until 2 in the morning, he was with us helping all the way. The day of (since I didnt see him at all) my AMAZING Bridesmaids, Mom and wonderful Photographer were an incredible help. With my nerves going crazy, I couldnt have gotten through the day with out them.

What was the most important thing to you when deciding who to work with for your wedding?

The most important thing for us when deciding who to work with was finding vendors who understood our need for detailed attention. There are some things that we were really easy going about, but then there were some particular details that were very important to us, and we wanted to make sure they were important to the Vendor too.

What was your inspiration for your wedding details and/or design?

Inspiration for the details and design would be my love for the color green and nature. Hence the usage of moss on our centerpieces. I also have an obsession with twinkle lights, so we went with candles covering the tables and twinkle lights outside of the venue veranda. It was incredibly beautiful.

What was your favorite thing about your wedding?

My favorite thing about my wedding was partying and dancing till I (literally!!) dropped with my new Husband and all of our friends and family. The DJ was fantastic and all of our guests had an incredible time. It was not only the best night of our lives, it was the best PARTY of our lives!

What is your best piece of advice for other brides?

On the day of, don’t sweat the little stuff. I know everyone says it and it seems difficult, but it is so true. During the whole planning process, sure, the little stuff is important. But on the day of, none of it matters except that your soon to be husband is at the altar and you are there holding his hands. Our cake fell over right before the ceremony and busted the topper decapitating the groom figurine. Our very good friend made our cake for us as a wedding gift and was so upset about it falling over. My husband and I could have cared less, to us it looked perfect, and even if it didn’t who cared?! It was about to be sliced up and eaten! The cake was delicious, all of our guests wouldn’t stop complementing it and even asked for the recipe. I could have been SO upset about it falling over and let it ruin the night, but I was on such a cloud nine that I completely forgot about all the little details ai was so worried about and just let myself enjoy the night. We worked so hard on getting everything right and in the end, everything was absolutely perfect…even if it wasn’t perfect at all!

While my mister wasn’t terribly helpful with planning (and for good reason – working full time and graduate school), I always love when I hear of how involved some grooms get. They’re helping to shift the paradigm a big.

How involved is/was your fiance?

xo,
Brit

Lovely wedding! Just a quick comment — the reception venue is listed as Ormond Memorial Gardens as well, but the reception appears to have taken place at LPGA International. (I had my reception there, too :-) )

Thanks for pointing that out Laura! We didn’t have all the info, and have updated it! :)
