Happy Monday everyone! I hope you all had a fabulous weekend! Did any of you go to a bridal show at all? I know there were TONS this past weekend! I spent my weekend doing some trial runs of crafts for an upcoming photo shoot and visiting with my adorable 5 month old nephew! :) And I don’t know about you, but it definitely doesn’t feel like January down here in Florida- from what I’ve heard, the past few days haven’t been too wintery for people all over the place!
I do know one thing though- this wedding that I have for you all today from ELV photographer Ashley Daniell will definitely make you feel like spring is already here! The pink and aqua are absolutely gorgeous together! The bride, Jackie, is stopping by to share a little bit of her wedding planning story with us too…
What (or who) helped you most in your planning process and/or on your wedding day?
I would have to say my Mom, and a family friend (Laura) who served as the coordinator, were the most help to me during the planning process. I graduated from Interior Design school, so I had a ton of ideas for our wedding. They kept me focused on the important details to make sure everything would be done on time. They also helped tremendously with all of the leg work for the wedding. They took my ideas, and made sure they came to fruition. I live in Atlanta, so this helped tremendously with planning a wedding in Florida.
What was the most important thing to you when deciding who to work with for your wedding?
When I met with the vendors, I made sure to tell them I wanted the wedding décor to be a combination of modern and shabby chic. The atmosphere we wanted to create was a fun, casual celebration with good food, music, and dancing. We really wanted everyone to have fun, and for it to be a true celebration. When I knew the vendor could meet those needs (while staying within our budget), I knew they would be perfect for our wedding.
Did any of your vendors do anything special for you before, on, or after your wedding day that you would like to share?
All of our vendors were fantastic, and I would recommend them to anyone! Ashley, from Ashley Daniell Photography, was absolutely wonderful. She helped me figure out a schedule for the day of the wedding. She made sure to get all of the photographs we wanted, and that everyone was present at the designated times. Our wedding pictures came to us in a beautiful CD cover, and she also included a few thoughtful, and personal, gifts. Ashley really went above and beyond, and she was wonderful to work with. I have Celiac disease, so finding a bakery and a caterer was really the most challenging part of the wedding planning process. Then we found Lucy and Leo’s Cupcakery! They made all gluten-free cupcakes for our wedding. I felt safe eating them, and knowing I would not be getting sick on my wedding day. This is the same for our caterer. We went non-traditional and had BBQ for dinner! That was by far the best decision we made. We had so many people telling us how wonderful the food was for a wedding, and again, I knew I could eat it all. The florist (Hurtis at Espositos) painstakingly chose hanging baskets ahead of time, and set them aside to make sure they were in full bloom the day of the wedding. Missy Gunnels Flowers did a beautiful job on our bouquets. Like I said previously, our vendors were fantastic! I could really go on, and on!!
What was your favorite thing about your wedding?
Where to begin! I think my favorite part was having a first look. There is something so special about that hour you have with each other before the ceremony. It really allows you to take time and get excited about the day! My other favorite things were the ceremony and location. We were married at the Buford Barn, which is owned by my uncle. We started with a chain linked fence, a torn down gazebo and a ground full of leaves, but I had a vision for the space! I remembered the old windows in my Mom’s garage (one was even from my Great Grandfather’s house), drew a design, and we went from there. I believe the result was a beautiful and unique backdrop for the ceremony! Our wedding was exactly what we wanted: family oriented, unique and a party! I wish we could rewind and relive the day. I definitely wouldn’t change a thing!
What is your best piece of advice for other brides?
I feel as though many brides become so stressed out about the little things that they can no longer enjoy the planning process. What a fun and exciting time to miss out on! My advice would be to take a step back and remember that it is YOUR wedding. At the end of the day, you will have married your love, everyone will have thought you were beautiful, and you, your husband, and your friends/family will have had a blast with wonderful memories. After all, isn’t that what a wedding is all about?
Thank you for sharing your wedding day with us Jackie, and thank you to Ashley Daniell Photography for sharing her gorgeous photos too!
So now tell me- what do you all think of the aqua and pink? Did it make you forget that it’s actually January and chilly outside or what? ;)
Vendors who made it all happen…

BEAUTIFUL WEDDING! I love all the attention to detail. The Preggo belly Bridesmaid in the group shot is fantastic! I love the way it rounds out the shot!!
I just adore these colors together! so much pretty going on here! ;)
I love the ceremony backdrop with the windows. Such a fun alternative to a simple arch.
Beautiful ceremony backdrop and LOVE the lush cupcake table. So awesome when you can reuse the beautiful bouquets as centerpieces. Well done!
Thank you so much for the sweet comments, and for featuring our wedding on ELD! What an honor!
Jackie’s wedding was a well-planned beautiful occasion….the colors were perfectly appropriate for the season of the year. Her eye for design was obvious in every detail of the venue, ceremony, and “after-party”. Flowers, food, music and photography choices were “on-spot” !
